The Farm
Ingersbyn Farm is situated in the western part of Sweden and on the northern shores of Lake Vänern, close to the community of Grums.
We have beef cattle on our farm - a herd of about 250 cows, heifers, calves and yearlings. Our herdsire ”Eros” is out on pastures on Agnhammar during the summer together with his herd and the calves that are born during spring. The herd are mainly Limousin cattle with a few crossbreed cows. We are working towards a more homogeneous stock with pure-breed limousine.
We have crop production on 110 ha. (mainly ley) We also have 170 hectares of pasture-land, off which most is on the lakeside of Lake Vänern. We produce for our own livestock about 300 tons of dry matter silage per year
The mechanical equipment on the farm consists of a fairly new tractor, mower conditioner, plough, mower/slasher, grain chart and a livestock trailer. We also have an ATV that is very useful when we do fencing and chase run-away calves.
The woodland is mainly young forest. A bit of spruce that grows fairy well, a bit of pine forest that hopefully will turn out to be good quality timer one day. Part of the woodland is beautiful mixed forest with a large percentage of birch.
